Term 3 2026
It’s been a busy and incredibly productive half-term here at Barnwood Park School, with so much to celebrate across all year groups. When we returned in January, Years 7 to 10 started their Mid-Year Assessments. It has been encouraging to see how they have demonstrated their learning and progress throughout the term. Their engagement and enthusiasm for learning across the board, as well as hearing the discussions with their teachers and peers about their results has been inspiring to watch.
Our Year 11 Progress Evening was well attended and the support from parents and carers is evident as they gear up for the next round of PPEs which continue after the half-term break. They’ve tackled a mountain of coursework with focus and determination, and their commitment is truly inspiring, and we are confident that their hard work will pay off. We’re here to support them every step of the way, and we wish them all the very best in the weeks ahead.
Our commitment to inclusive education continues to flourish and develop, with our hugely successful SEND coffee events continuing again this year. They provide invaluable support and information to parents and carers. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to share best practice and celebrate the positive impact of our inclusive learning environment. My thanks to everyone involved in organising, supporting and attending these important events.
Beyond the classroom, our students have benefited from a wide range of enriching experiences.
The Dance Festival at Cheltenham Town Hall was a particular highlight, which saw an incredible number of students participating. We were especially proud of our all-boys dance group, who raised awareness around mental health, which gained praise and recognition from our local community. The UKMT Intermediate Maths challenge also proved to be a great success, and we were fortunate enough to have several other trips and visits, including an information session on Alcohol Education for our Year 7s. These opportunities are vital for broadening horizons and bringing learning to life, and we’re delighted to be able to continue to increase our offer of extracurricular activities.
Looking forward, the next half-term looks to be equally enriching with a particular focus on Careers events and our highly anticipated CentreStage production.
I hope that you have a restful and enjoyable half-term break!
